Local host family
At inlingua Vacation Programmes we pride ourselves on the quality of the local host
families with whom we work. As stated above, safety and quality are of equal importance to us. With this in mind we have apolicy of recruiting the vast majority of our families from the State Register of Childminders.  This gives us a securestarting point as families who are registered to look after children from 3 months to 8 years have to undergo regular rigorous safety and welfare inspections plus comprehensivecriminal record checks.
In addition, inlingua Vacation Programmes is accredited by the Association of British Language Schools and as such is subject to the regulations set down by them. This includes a full initial inspection followed by regular external audits and visits. Furthermore, the nature of our recruitment procedure ensures that we always target families with adults who work in certain highly regulated professions e.g. the Police and fire services, social services, youth training, teachers etc.
We work closely with our host family partners throughout the year, eliciting feedback from all our customers along the way. As well as this regularly updated client driven feedback we implement our own homevisits by our designated “Host Family Co-ordinator”.
All junior students are always accompanied by their host families to and from theschool / stadium every day. They are never allowed to be anywhere unaccompanied by a designated responsible adult. Parents whoare happy for their children to be allowed out alone must submit this in writing to the Director of inlingua VacationProgrammes, stating that they absolve inlingua Vacation Programmes of any responsibility for the welfare and safety of their children during these times. Child Protection Mission Statement inlingua Vacation Programmes is committed to creating and maintaining the safest possible environment for children and young people. We do this by: recognising that all children and young people have the right to freedom from abuse ensuring that all our staff, volunteers and host families are carefully selected and accept responsibility for helping to prevent the abuse of children and young people in their care responding swiftly and appropriately to all suspicions or allegations of abuse, and providing host families, parents and guardians, children and young people with the opportunity to voice any concerns they may have appointing a Welfare Officer who will take specific responsibility for child safety and act as the main point of contact for host families, parents, guardians, children, young people and outside agencies Ensuring access to confidential information is restricted to the Welfare Officer or the appropriate external authorities Regularly reviewing the effectiveness of our Child Protection Policy

Facilities Adventure International has a wealth of facilities at its disposal. These range fromthe on-site facilities which are second to none, including the 60ft purpose built climbing wall with last season’s brand new bouldering wall, through the fantastic high ropes course to the astro-turf sports surface. Then on to the off-site facilities just a stones throw from the Centre which include Bude canal, the River Neet, the amazing Summerleaze Beach and the awe inspiring Northcott Cliffs.

Off-Site Facilities • Bude Canal only a short 5 minute walk from the centre provides the venue for our dragon boating session • the excellent River Neet right on our doorstep is our host for both kayaking and canoeing providing the perfect calm sheltered venue for these activities • the exceptional Summerleaze Beach only a stones throw from the centre provides allyou could ask for as a venue for our surfing and body boarding sessions • Northcott Mouth and the Black Wall provide the venue for our impressive abseil. A short stroll along the coast brings you to this unbeatable venue
